Terracotta Dragon Artisan Button-Handmade button

This striking, one of a kind button is made from an iron rich red clay and has deep red-brown terracotta colour, but because of the unique composition of the clay, it was possible to fire the pieces to 'stoneware' hardness, which makes them harder than traditional low fire terracotta pottery.

The button was made by hand and is embossed with a Dragon which is highlighted with a deep turquoise glaze. The surface has pleasing a smooth feel in the hand and a matte appearance.
The button is not affected by water or detergent.

This is a large button and is approx. 1 5/8 inch in diameter.
